At One & Done, tutoring is personal. Whether you are preparing for the Florida Bar Exam, Georgia Bar Exam, California Bar Exam, Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), or Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), or you are a law student looking for additional support, our sessions are tailored to you and the areas where you need the most help.

There is no one-size-fits-all tutoring plan. Some students need help understanding a difficult area of law. Others want to improve their multiple-choice strategy, essay writing, legal analysis, exam performance, or study habits. We focus on what will be most useful to you.

Bar exam tutoring sessions may be used for substantive law review, MBE strategy, essay preparation and review, MPT or Performance Test preparation, study planning, or a combination of these areas.

Law school tutoring may include substantive course review, outlining, practice questions, issue spotting, essay writing, exam strategy, and help learning how to organize and apply the law effectively.

Review & Analysis of Past Bar Exam Scores

For repeat bar takers, prior bar exam scores can give us valuable insight into what may need to change.

We can review your prior score report and performance together, identify areas of strength and weakness, and use that information to develop a more focused approach for your next exam.

One-on-One Instruction on Black-Letter Law

Sometimes you simply need someone to slow down a difficult legal concept and explain it in a way that makes sense.

We work with both bar applicants and law students to strengthen their understanding of black-letter law and, just as importantly, their ability to recognize when a rule is being tested and apply it correctly to the facts.

For law students, this may include working through difficult course material, organizing rules and concepts, and preparing to apply them effectively on a law school exam.

Practice Questions, Essays & Performance Tests

Knowing the law is only part of the equation. You also need to know how to use it under exam conditions.

For bar applicants, we work on MBE questions and strategy, jurisdiction-specific and MEE essays, and MPT or Performance Test assignments where applicable. We focus on understanding why an answer is right or wrong, recognizing how legal issues are tested, improving written analysis, and developing strategies that can be applied under timed conditions.

For law students, we can work through multiple-choice questions, practice essays, hypotheticals, and other course-specific problems to strengthen issue spotting, rule application, analysis, and exam-writing skills.

Essay Writing & Legal Analysis

Strong legal writing is about much more than knowing the rules.

We work on identifying the issues that matter, organizing an answer, stating rules clearly, applying the facts effectively, and explaining the reasoning that gets you from the rule to the conclusion.

For bar applicants, that means learning how to write an efficient, responsive bar exam essay.

For law students, it means developing the analytical skills and exam-writing structure professors are looking for.

Multiple-Choice Strategy

Rather than simply focusing on whether you selected the right answer, we look at why you chose it.

We work on identifying the issue being tested, recognizing distractors, distinguishing between closely competing answer choices, and spotting patterns in the types of questions you are missing.

These skills are valuable not only for the MBE, but also for law school courses that use multiple-choice examinations.

Study Strategy, Organization & Accountability

Sometimes the challenge is not understanding the law—it is figuring out how to study all of it effectively.
