Many students use One & Done alongside a commercial bar review program, and the two can work very well together.Commercial courses provide a large amount of material, lectures, practice questions, and a general study structure. One-on-one tutoring gives you something different: individualized attention.Instead of following the same plan as thousands of other students, we can focus on your questions, your performance, your weak areas, and the skills you need to improve.For first-time takers, tutoring can help you get more out of your commercial program by making sure you understand the material and know how to apply it.Repeat takers may need a different approach depending on their prior scores, study materials, and previous preparation.During our initial meeting, we can talk about the resources you already have and how tutoring can best fit into your overall study plan.

Yes.If there is an area of law that you do not understand or simply cannot get to stick, we can slow it down and work through it together.But we do not stop at memorizing the rules.We also focus on helping you recognize when the rule is being tested, how the examiners may disguise the issue, how to distinguish similar rules, and how to apply the law to the facts.The goal is to help you understand the law well enough to actually use it on exam day.

Essay grading depends on the package you choose.Our Bronze Essay Packages are designed for students who want detailed written grading and feedback without live tutoring.Our Silver and Gold Essay Packages combine live one-on-one tutoring with a specified number of essays that you submit separately for detailed written grading.When we review your essays, we are looking at much more than whether you reached the “right” answer.Feedback may address:Issue spottingRule statementsAnalysis and use of factsOrganizationResponsiveness to the call of the questionMissed issuesGaps in analysisRecurring writing patternsSpecific ways to improve future answersEssays and MPTs can also be worked through during live tutoring sessions.For Silver and Gold packages, the essays included for separate written grading are in addition to the work we complete together during your live sessions.

There is no single schedule that works for everyone.Some students benefit from regular meetings throughout bar preparation, while others prefer to use tutoring more strategically for difficult subjects, essay review, MBE work, or specific points in their study schedule.We will talk about your exam date, available study time, prior performance, and goals and determine a schedule that makes sense for you.The frequency can also change as you progress. You may need more support in one phase of bar prep and less in another.

Our tutoring is informed by ongoing study, teaching, review of bar-tested subjects, and continued attention to changes in the law and the examinations we tutor.That means we are not simply relying on what worked years ago. We are continually reviewing the law, exam strategy, and testing approaches so that the guidance we provide remains relevant to today's bar exam.Most importantly, your tutoring can change as your needs change.If you are struggling with black-letter law, we work on the law. If your MBE scores are not improving, we look at how you are approaching the questions. If you know the law but are not translating that knowledge into points on essays, we work on your writing and analysis.The goal is to give you the individualized instruction, strategy, feedback, and support you need throughout the bar preparation process.

All paid services are non-refundable.Sessions cancelled or rescheduled more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment will not incur a cancellation charge.Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, will be charged in full.Because reserved tutoring time generally cannot be offered to another student on short notice, we appreciate as much advance notice as possible if you need to make a scheduling change.
